Sennheiser's infrared audio
transmission systems are an effective alternative to hard-wired
headphone systems, for lectures, conferences, exhibitions and
churches. This technology uses modulated, invisible,
infra-red light to connect the sound source and listener. Infra red
audio transmission technology is suitable for applications where one
or several sound sources are transmitted,
- simultaneous translation of several languages during
conferences
- in public
address applications were users require a great deal of mobility,
e.g. in exhibitions or tour guide systems
- theatre and performing arts venues for
hearing aid users and/or audio description.

In theatres and other performing arts venues,
infra-red systems can simultaneously transmit hearing
reinforcement and audio description, these systems cater for both
hard of hearing (hearing aid users) or partially sighted and blind
patrons allowing them to enjoy a theatre experience.
Sennheiser Wideband dual-channel infra-Red systems are used.
