MATRICS PRO-SOUND Magic 88
"MAGIC88" mixer/zoner
digital sound processor
The complicated installation of multiple racks
of audio processing equipment and nests of multicore cable is a
thing of the past. A simple to operate, flexible multi-application
system in just 2 units of rack space is now a reality using the
new MAGIC 88 programmable DSP matrix mixer Zoner from MATRICS PRO-SOUND.

The MAGIC 88 programmable DSP matrix mixing Zoner,
enables easy installation and set-up of audio installations. Installations
such as music bars, clubs, theatres, leisure and retail applications
where there exists a requirement for selection of multiple high quality
music sources and paging to multiple zones. With the addition of
local control of source selection, volume and other parameters.
Other applications include conferencing and multi function venues
where
it is required to route multiple microphone inputs to multiple outputs,
with the need to be able to easily change signal paths and priorities
to suit specific needs for different applications.
The MAGIC 88 offers true flexibility:
- based on DSP technology
- offering 8 inputs to 8 outputs
- (each pair being selectable for stereo
inputs and outputs),
- easy set-up of all inputs and out-puts,
- plus other important parameters via
its front panel menu driven 240 x 64 LCD display.
- The unit is powered by a AC/DC external adapter
supplying 18- 30 volts DC, together with a 24V battery backup input
in the event of mains failure.

DSP Technology At the Heart of the unit
is a powerful 32-bit digital audio processor, coupled with state
of the art A/D and D/A converters, on board configurations are
stored in EEprom. All software is stored in Flash which is easily
updated via the RS 232 port.
- Routing of inputs to outputs
- Priorities, both inputs & outputs
- Levels, both inputs & outputs
- Equalisation, both inputs & outputs
- Input access, being via the
DataLink, contact access or level detection
- Input compression + gating
- Output limiting
- Input pre announcement chime
- Assigning outputs as either
mono or stereo (using two outputs)
- Setting delays on output
- Override levels per input
per zone, for paging override
- 16 memory blocks (Pre-sets)
