Environmental
Policy Statement
Apple
Sound Ltd recognises and attaches a high priority to the need to protect
the Health & Safety of its employees, customers and all others who
come into contact with us, together with the need to protect the environment,
and minimise the detrimental effect that any activity, whenever and
wherever carried out by directors, employees or subcontractors of Apple
Sound Ltd may have on the environment. To this end, this policy statement
will be drawn to the attention of all new employees and all existing
employees and sub-contractors annually. The policy will be reviewed
on a regular basis, at least annually, in line with the company Health
and Safety Policy.
In pursuit
of the policy, Apple Sound Ltd will:
- Ensure
that all statutory requirements and recognised guidelines relating
to Environmental Issues are either met or exceeded.
- Ensure
that all activities are carried out in a way which keeps pollution
and wastage to an absolute minimum.
- Ensure
that all waste material which is unsuitable for re-use or recycling,
is removed by Registered Carriers to Licenced Tips. Used batteries
must be disposed of in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines
and those of the refuse collection service.
- Ensure
that all relevant authorities are consulted, and that practical measures
are taken to control noise pollution.
- Ensure
that Natural Habitats are disturbed as little as possible as a result
of outdoor events, and that any ground disturbance is restored to
its previous state after the event.
- Ensure
that disposal of waste material is kept to a minimum, by re-using
or re-cycling packing and all other material where possible. Electronic
office systems which reduce the use of paper will be used wherever
possible.
- Ensure
that all company vehicles are serviced regularly, according to the
manufacturers schedules, to ensure vehicles operate at optimum efficiency,
and to reduce exhaust emissions. All drivers of company vehicles will
receive training aimed at promoting safe and economical use of vehicles.
- Ensure
that the use of energy, water and other consumables is kept to a minimum.
Wherever possible, environmentally friendly materials will be used
in preference to others. Use of all resources will be monitored with
the aim of minimising use.
- All
incidents with any environmental bearing will be recorded, together
with any remedial action taken. This record will form part of the
annual review of the Policy.
The overall
aim of this policy, in conjunction with the Health and Safety Policy,
is to promote Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental issues in
order to continually improve the working environment.
Responsibility
for ensuring compliance with the aims of this policy is with the Directors.
Administration of the Policy, together with appropriate procedures and
reviews will be the responsibility of the Office Manager, who shall
report directly to the Directors.
